Enhancing Your Life – Changing Your Perspective |
|
I consciously feel grateful everyday for the life I have. I am totally aware of my blessings. Was I always like this? No I wasn’t. I have dealt with a lot of grief and sadness and often could not see past that. Does that last sentence describe you? Or maybe someone you know? We all have periods in our life when things were dark. Or we all have someone that we know right now that is living it. The important thing is that it is a period of your life, but not your whole life. The “Enhancing Your Life” workshop and seminar is about changing your perspective on life, becoming aware of joy, and learning how to make small changes that can significantly enhance your life, so jump in! Enhancing Your Life – Changing Your Perspective
What was her secret? How could anyone live like that and still feel happy? She was obviously an extraordinary person. How can we learn from her? I feel that Mother Theresa knew the secret to being happy and living life to the fullest. She must have felt that she was destined to help and care for others and she followed her passion. Mother Theresa also gave to others and lived a selfless life. I think helping others, giving back in some way, makes us feel extra special. I don’t think we have to live a life of piety and poverty like a saint, but giving back to society through kind deeds, makes us feel better about whom we are. Suddenly when it is not just about us anymore, we begin to think in a more global manner; more holistic. We start to care about things as a whole and not just the pieces of things. Small things suddenly can become significant. Think about things that may have left an impression on you. Maybe you remember baking cookies with your Mom, or that teacher that took the time to help you after class, or the first time your kids made a card for you. All were small acts of kindness that left a fond memory in your heart and your mind. I believe in karma, I always have. As a Kundalini yoga teacher, karma was a part of the teachings that were passed on to us. For every action there is a reaction and good brings good. Of course life still continues to occur, the flu still happens and work can still drain you and people and pets still die, so why bother trying to make things better? Because you need to, for yourself and the people around you. We all need to try and make the world a better place to live, but in our own unique way. Just like Mother Theresa did. This starts by doing things to make ourselves feel better and learning ways to enhance our lives – and that’s what this workshop and seminar is all about.
